Freelance designer since 2004, I work with many international companies and teach design at the University of Toulouse. In 2019, I won a German design Award. Passionate and empathetic, I seek to create quirky and sympathetic products that people will appropriate. I enjoy exploring different universes and creating products that communicate with people.
For Flam & Luce, the most important thing is to listen to our customers. Your comments and suggestions become our inspiration. That's when we assemble all of our know-how in order to create unique collections; sometimes distinguished, many times playful but, above all, always the reflection of our passion for the "object of light". The "Studio by Flam&Luce" collection represents the best of what we do, internally, to serve you better.
MATHIAS ® PARIS
Being a man of feelings, a self-taught designer and "créateur", my collections tend to be graceful, airy and distinguished. For me, feelings are found where subtlety and sensuality come together. I design lines of home objects inspired by the places of my childhood, in complete harmony with my current life today in Provence. For Flam & Luce, I create lamps and accessories of pure lines.
After graduating from the Art and Design school « Boulle » in Paris, I decided to create my own agency in 2006, in order to extend unique creativity on multifaceted projects. With a genius mix of sophistication, cleverness and respect for the customer need, I always design the best object, furniture and interior design projects. With Flam&Luce, I create lamps that are both elegant and expressive. I want to offer to the user, experience through manipulations and poetic forms.
Luc Deflandre is an all-round decorator and designer who studied art out of passion. Born in Madagascar in 1964, Luc was quickly drawn to painting and more particularly to the work of Pablo Picasso. After an internship at the children's studio at the Center Georges Pompidou, he spent several years at the Picasso Museum in Antibes before returning to Paris to work in an architectural firm for which he designed a collection of objects and lights. He also experiments with other forms of expression that he refuses to prioritize and which feed his creative language, drawing with thick markers and bold pastels very graphic, colorful and "material" elements.
From my mixed origins in Brittany and Africa, I keep the need to mix influences through poetic creations where matter and colour arise and vibrate clean, timeless lines. My work dialogues between artisanal know-how and modernity. For Flam & Luce, I design collections of lights like so many characters or universes.
For me, the conception of an object or a place always starts from a particular story: specific know-how, the qualities of a material, the light of a space, in resonance with the needs of a particular project. I want to give shape to emotions, stories and dreams.
Born in Casablanca of an Italian father and a French mother, I grew up in a multicultural environment, which is reflected in the continuous search of contrasts in my projects. Mixing many cultural influences, from different horizons, with companies needs and design briefs is not only a goal but also a necessity.
I feel inspired by the universe around us to offer creative, clever and trendy ligthing, which sublimates the light to create a pleasant mood and increase our well-being inside.
After a career as a business manager, it was in a Senegalese village that I became passionate about metal. I am perfecting my training in France, setting up my furniture manufacturing workshop and launching myself with enthusiasm in the design of contemporary furniture. My desire: to favor use. The use of noble materials, metal and wood, allows my creations to integrate into their environment.
RICHARD PIERRE DUPLESSIX
What always attracted me, is the relationship of an object to its environment and its place in space. Design for me is a way to exchange, to reveal the practical and poetic aspect of an object, to tell a story. The goal is to combine functionality and simplicity to provoke an emotion. Only when the idea is set, I focus on colour, detail and shape.
Born in Reunion Island, I am attached to cultural diversity. Graduated from ENSAAMA Paris, I have worked with various Maisons and renowned designers. I like to create emotions, to offer an experience before any aesthetic value, to echo dreams or common roots; write a story, and bring it to life.
Graduated in Industrial Design since 2015, I try to combine the products that I create with simplicity and elegance along with its functionality. I want the lamps that I design to be involved in an environment; not only a tool but also a piece of decoration.
